Who we are
MyConnections is operated by MyConnections, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“we”). We are the controller of the data described here.
What we collect
- Account: the email you sign in with (or the email and name your Google account shares), and the handle and profile details you enter.
- Profile: what you choose to publish — headline, summary, positions, updates, intents, presence — with the visibility you set for each.
- Connected tools: when you connect an AI tool through OAuth, we record which tool, what it was allowed to do, and each action it took on your behalf.
- Private data you import or connect (contacts, calendar) stays private to you and is used only to power your own networker. It never becomes a public profile.
- Photos you upload: we convert them to a web format and remove all embedded metadata (camera details, location) before publishing. Before removing it we read when the photo was taken and, if it carries a location, look up the nearest town offline and keep only that place name, privately; the exact coordinates are discarded at once and never stored, published or sent to anyone. Updates are public, so when you add photos to an update that has no location and they agree on a city, that city (for example “Phoenix, AZ”) is added to the update and you are told, so you can remove it; you can turn this off, and then the city is only suggested. A date from your photos is only ever suggested, never added unless you confirm it, and never for an update that already has a date.
- Mobile number: only if you add one and confirm it, so your networker can reach you by SMS or WhatsApp (see below).
What we do not do
- No advertising, no selling or renting data, no ghost profiles of people who have not signed up.
- Public pages show only what you set to public. Everything else is behind your consent settings.
- MyConnections does not publish email addresses or phone numbers. Your email address and mobile number are never shown on any public page or shared with other members; other people reach you through your networker, with context.
Text messages: SMS and WhatsApp
- Opt-in. We only message a mobile number you add yourself and confirm with the code we send, during onboarding or later from your settings. Confirming the number is your consent to receive messages from your networker on that channel. You can use MyConnections without adding a number.
- What we send. Messages from your networker about your account: connection and introduction requests, your briefing when you choose that channel, confirmations, and replies to what you send it. No marketing, and nothing on behalf of third parties. Message frequency depends on your activity and the preferences you set.
- Opting out. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages on that number; reply HELP for help. You can also remove the number in your settings. Stopping messages does not affect your account.
- Rates. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier and plan.
- Your number is never shared or public. It is used only to deliver messages to you, is never shown on your page or to other members, and is passed only to the providers that carry the messages (an SMS carrier for SMS, WhatsApp for WhatsApp) for that purpose. It is never sold or used for advertising.
Google user data
If you sign in with Google we receive your email address and basic profile (name, picture) to create and sign in to your account. We do not request access to your Google contacts, calendar or mail through sign-in. If you separately connect Google Calendar (you can connect more than one account, for example work and personal), we read the next seven days of events, read-only, to power your own networker; that copy is private to you and deleted seven days after each meeting. Google user data is processed by our AI providers only to produce your own briefings, and is never used to train AI models — ours or theirs. Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
You can change visibility per field, disconnect any tool or calendar, remove your mobile number, or delete your account at any time. Deletion removes your profile and data; a hard-delete pipeline handles erasure requests. Contact privacy@myconnections.ai.
Where data lives
Data is hosted with Supabase and Vercel in the United States. Region options for EU/UK customers are planned.
